Welcome to Bid Proposal¶
Bid Proposal is responsible from RFQ to PO stage. Main responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Proposing fit-for-purpose solutions to the customer in timely manner
- Handling the relationship with the suppliers
- Optimizing cost
- Mitigating project risks
3C - Three Guiding Principles¶
The following traits & behaviours form three core guiding principles to make an individual excel personally, be a contributing team member and/or a visionary leader. Depending on an individual's disposition and abilities, he/she will fit into different categories. It is a good matrix to measure oneself against and this self-knowledge could pave way for the individual to find oppourunities for improvement and aspriation.
The list below is in an ascending order of rating (from E to A) on an individual's ability. It is undoubtly a good matrix for self-reflection. Use it not only just for satisfying appraisal requirements but more importably also to improve yourself.
You carry yourself with you all the time and it might as well be a better you.
Character¶
Has Integrity/Honesty¶
- E: Is inconsistent in acting honestly and with integrity in every situation. Is not open.
- D: Is not always open and transparent and does not sufficiently inspire trust.
- C: Acts openly and honestly with integrity in every situation. Puts interest and success of the Company before own. Inspires trust with team members.
- B: Acts openly and honestly, always puts interest and success of the Company before own. Asks for feedback to improve own behaviour to inspire trust and build strong bonds for the benefit of the business.
- A: Is open, transparent and inspires trust internally and externally. Is widely respected and has built a network of friends and associates for the benefit the Company in the short and long term.
Has Positive Attitude¶
- E: Does not demonstrate a positive attitude, lacks enthusiasm about products, business and people.
- D: Is not enthusiastic enough about the products, people and projects to inspire commitment. Is not active in working towards improvement and grasping growth opportunities.
- C: Is enthusiastic about the products, the people and the projects. Is keen to look for or identify new business and growth opportunities.
- B: Has a very enthusiastic personality. Generates and build an environment that champions optimism and development. Is continuously looking for and identifying new business and growth opportunities.
- A: Bonds people to the business, generates enthusiasm, diversity and excitement around a vision and people want to be part of it. Is continuously looking for and identifying new business and growth opportunities.
Demonstrate Excellent Team Work¶
- E: Does not demonstrate team spirit. Cannot balance own needs and needs of others.
- D: Insufficient demonstration of team spirit shows inadequate interest to embrace team goals, share knowledge and successes with others.
- C: Knows how to balance own's and team's needs. Shares knowledge and successes with others and gives them candid advice. Builds trust to collaborate with others to set goals and define the plan to realize collective achievements.
- B: Demonstrates great teamwork. Possess good skills in working in teams and across borders to leverage resources to meet goals. Has great capacity in sharing knowledge and successes.
- A: Is a team builder. Is outstanding in being able to motivate and lead teams to score time and again. Is also an excellent team member who is highly sought after by other teams. Is often well respected for commitment, contribution, sharing and coaching in teams.
Competence¶
Demonstrate Excellent Quality Work¶
- E: Does not demonstrate any quality consciousness. Performance standards are not met.
- D: Is inconsistent in meeting quality standards in work performance. Improvement is needed.
- C: Can be relied upon to perform work of good quality. Quality standards in work performance is generally met.
- B: Demonstrates high quality consciousness in all aspects of work. Performance standards are often above expectations. Is used as a reference in the organization for excellent quality.
- A: Is a role model for quality consciousness, strives to be top of the game to delight customers. Behaviour is exemplary as individual continually raises the bar for performance standards.
Deliver Expected Results¶
- E: Is not focused on reaching the goals and targets set. Generally displays poor work attitude.
- D: Insufficient effort and focus on meeting goals and targets set. Improvement is needed.
- C: Delivers results, is focused on reaching the set goals and targets. Clearly manages self and team to make things happen every time.
- B: Consistently delivers results and is intensely focused on meeting set goals and targets. Leads and manages resources, resolves performance obstacles and ensures high morale of team members.
- A: Demonstrates a high result orientation. Sets and works to visionary but attainable goals, finds new ways to excel while others consider impossible.
Is Innovitavie & Creative¶
- E: Does not question how things are done. Likes to maintain and prefers status-quo.
- D: Is not an innovative person, questions the way things are done but is not active in thinking out of the box.
- C: Has demonstrated ability to be innovative and is active in thinking out of the box. Continually strives to make changes to improve performance and implements new ways of doing business.
- B: Is a strategic thinker, innovative and creative in thinking and doing. Adapts business and management processes in order to be ahead of the game.
- A: Is a strategic thinker, continually thinks out of the box, creates and implements new ways of doing business. Grasps market opportunities and innovates to create short and long term success.
Commitment¶

- E: Is not passionate and lacks drive.
- D: Does what is expected and does not demonstrate sufficiently any effort to drive better business outcomes. Shows some interest in people development.
- C: Has high energy. Shows and expresses passion when speaking about the company and business. Influences and inspires others to his cause. Is keen in developing others.
- B: Highly energetic and passionate in everything related to the business. Generates enthusiasm, optimism and never gives up. Is persevering in tough situations and stays calm and business like, making timely and right decisions. Actively involves in people development.
- A: Thrives in challenges when others are fearful. Fiercely passionate, will always overcome adversity and works towards a clear vision with determination, knowledge and ingenuity. Is able to motivate and inspire and develop people to support him.
Walk the Extra Mile¶
- E: Not prepared to exert any extra effort to accomplish tasks and meet targets set.
- D: Does not use sufficient discretionary effort to elevate standard of performance.
- C: Uses discretionary effort and walks the extra mile to delight customers, both internal and external.
- B: Continually strives to better performance standards. Always walks the extra mile to ensure targets are met and exceeded.
- A: Is a role model in walking the extra mile. Consistently strives to beat competitors and works towards a vision to ensure short term success and long term sustainability.

- E: Does not take sufficient ownership for meeting personal and team’s agreed targets. Individual shows little interest in seeking opportunities to improve business outcomes.
